Those days where your thoughts go wandering
in the deepest darkest corners of your mind,
to excavate those memories, almost decomposed

It’s not you wanting them to do so,
They just have a mind of their own,
They have a plan and a map of your brain

Some days, they just awaken from their routine slumber
and carry that stupid map of your memories
embedded in certain neurons

Those neurons that you so likely wanted
to kill to the point of extinction
They go, they seek and they find them

Your brain, fights the urge, your brain sets obstacles
to keep them away from finding these memories
under superimposed layers of time
Your brain becomes cloudy, it wants to become blurry

These neurons harvest the past of YOU
Your time in a certain time,
They became richer, with what you fed them
even though at that time, they were like…

The Dark Ages Ahead

It has been confirmed that Ectasy , LSD, Captagon, and other potent and hallucinogenic drugs have been circulating in and out of Syria for the past 3 years.

It must justify some of the gruesome behaviors and disgusting ways of killing people like worms, when ultimate freedom of killing and weapon logistics are provided to humans, along with the “right” hosting environment of altered states of mind, anything is possible. It might also justify the “cows must cover their titties” law they just came up with. Probably someone had some kind of trip on a cow and the cow spoke to him that she wants to convert to Islam? I’m really speechless here.

All part of a Zionist evil master plan to divide the Middle East into religious fanatic federal states fighting amongst each others, because all Arabs are good at, is killing each others while the big boys plant their claws right deep into our deserts, water wells, and souls..

Christians are either slaughtered or forced to leave to Europe and other countries while we, the moderate ones are left helpless in the face of never-before-seen hate from the International community.

How is it possible for the world to have changed so much since 2001? Since 9/11? Because that is when the new master plan was put in place. How can I think of even wanting to bring children into this world one day, when the world has become an open hell… In just 13 years, we are right back in the dark ages.

The world as we know it IS ending, a new world is being built right under our noses and there’s absolutely nothing we can do to change it. We need to accept this negativity, killing, and ugliness are a part of this new cruel world instead of hoping deep inside that this is just a phase the world is going through, because it’s not.

Lebanon is the last country on the list, and the dominos effect hasn’t reached us yet, for oh so many reasons.

Maybe this should drive us all to be humble, nicer, kinder, forgive ourselves and each others, let go of all things that are bad, appreciate our families and loved one more and not hold grudges and really just live well because that’s all there is to it.

Don’t blame people who are sharing videos, statuses, and pictures of what is going around the world, they’re scared, they’re confused, they want you to feel that there is something genuinely wrong with the world and it’s not such a pretty place anymore.

Facebook is constantly changing, so should your business strategy.

Facebook announced a few months ago that content from pages will gradually start to become less visible on fans’ Timelines, because- well Facebook is not a free promotional platform, I’m beginning to think their new slogan should be: ” What you pay for is what you get”.

Due to Facebook’s algorithm( that is constantly changing), the pages you like are become less visible to you, and even if content is out there, you simply can not see it. Usually 1 in 6 fans can see what pages post, but now, “story-bumping” made it “worse” for businesses online. Read more on that here.

According to Steam Feed, this is what Facebook announced back in December:

…competition for each News Feed story is increasing. Because the content in News Feed is always changing, and we’re seeing more people sharing more content, Pages will likely see changes in distribution. For many Pages, this includes a decline in organic reach. We expect this trend to continue as the competition for each story remains strong and we focus on quality.

That being said, the first question you should ask yourself is, do you really want to rely on Facebook as the sole platform for your business? Because let’s face it, it’s time to change your strategy and focus on your owned channels ( blogs, email, websites) and make use of other rising social media platforms such as Instagram, Linkedin,Twitter and Google+.

When it comes to your social media strategy on Facebook, the basics should remain the same:

– Post engaging content based on your audience’s Interests and online availability which can be analyzed through Facebook Insights.

– Invest in Facebook ads to get your content more visible and to get more “paid” fans likes

– Launch regular Facebook competitions, either with dedicated tabs (which require Facebook ads) or simple Timeline competitions.

Facebook is never constant, and that is why your strategy should go line in line with the restless changes and updates from the hectic, yet necessary world of Social Media. So are you changing directions yet?

Daddy’s little girl needs a sugar daddy when she “grows up”!

I live in a society where we reached a point of no return, when it comes to endless aspects of life.

I’m not the typical Lebanese gold-digging girl who goes out with highest bidder, I’ve been different since I was 2 years old. But as a 28 year old “adult”, I look around and feel like an outsider most of the time. What’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with them? Who’s right and who’s wrong? Should i consider getting my first shot of botox now just to fit in? Umm-NO!

It’s a blessing to be born in a rich family, not that I know anything about that though. But why do girls grow up and turn into unproductive dependent slackers? Why do you need to be wearing your boobs out when you go out? Will you find prince charming that way? Will you reserve your place in his dirty mind and his fantasies if you look like a bimbo? What happened to natural beauty and educated women wanting to thrive in society on their own and build lives and not a legion of sugar daddies?

I am drawn to the conclusion that spoiled little brats grow up into becoming gold digging women with no interest in contributing to society, except when it comes to plastic surgeons and retail shops.

I don’t have one friend who looks like Maya Diab and for god’s sake if you do, stay away from me. I want to have an intellectual conversation about science, philosophy, politics, and I do NOT want to know how long it took you to get than tan and how well your nose healed after your latest “corrective rhinoplasty”- Yeah right.

Please do give your feedback about what I said, perhaps I’m mistaken.

How to lose a 10 minutes

The sun is up and “love” (or let’s call it casual courting, shall we?) is back in the air!

Guys are at the gym everyday, girls are getting skinnier and more tanned already, and the hook up Lebanese culture is on its way back, with a vengeance. How did it become like that?

I don’t know who should be held responsible for the emasculation of men and objectification of women, but somewhere in the middle society shifted from “I think I met the man/woman of my dreams” to ” See ya later, I’m going home with this one tonight”.

Guys, we know there are a few of you good ones left out there, but here are some guidelines on how not to repel a possibly mature strong minded woman out of your way and a possibility of a second date with you.

1- Lose the golden chain around your neck: We might like you but we don’t need to put some bling on you. You don’t need to be doing that to yourself either, it is an instant girl repellant, and I mean instant.

2- Don’t brag about your past sexual adventures: Bottom line, we know you’ve been around the block, even more than once, just don’t rub it in our faces because we don’t really care who you’ve boned before. Unless it’s Angelina Jolie, then go ahead and tell us details.

3- Take it easy with your body language:  If it’s a first date and you’re expecting something, go home. There’s something called personal space, have you heard of it? If not, don’t be surprised if you never hear from us again.

4- You’re a 34 year old passionate artist and struggling philosopher but you still live with/off your parents: This sums it up pretty much.

5- You still party like you’re 18: Well. An occasional party or 2 are cool, but if you’re in your 30’s and still think every weekend is an excuse to go over the top with your drinking and what comes with it, Uh-NO.

6- You’re mean to the waiter but nice to everyone else: This says a lot about how you treat others. It’s a big turn off.

7- Eye contact is essential: We know we have a nice rack, just look above our chest when we’re trying to have a decent conversation.

You don’t have to be a douche to impress us, we’re turned on by good manners, chivalry and an intellectual conversation.

Maroun Baghdadi in the Limelight

Hummus For Thought

Maroun Baghdadi is arguably Lebanon’s greatest documentarian. His portrayal of everyday Lebanese during the 70s and 80s evokes haunting images of a nation of fractured identities. His movie “Beirut oh Beirut” was described by ArteEast as “perhaps the first real masterpiece of Lebanese cinema” and for good reasons. When it was shown at 1982 Cannes Film Festival, Baghdadi was praised by a prominent film critic saying “to make a film about Beirut that eschews polemics for more universal, more human issues is an achievement” (can’t find the source).

Maroun Baghdadi in the Limelight” is organized by The Center for Civic Engagement and Community Service (CCECS) and the Palestinian Cultural Club (PCC) at AUB, in collaboration with “Nadi Lekol el Nas”(Culture for Everyone) and MMKN organization.

The program will feature screenings of 3 of his documentaries, his bibliography as well as a photo gallery. You can…
